Center Motor Cable Replacement

WARNING: Seats with SIPS bag must always have the transport safety device installed in order to avoid accidentally activating the system when working on the seat.


Caution: While carrying out the following operations take care not to alter the position of the seat guide rails relative to one another. If the rails are moved then it will not be possible to reinstall the seat in the vehicle.

Removing

Preparations
- Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.
- Remove battery negative lead.
- Cars with SIPS airbag: Install the transport safety device for the SIPS Airbag.
- Remove seat from car.
- Turn seat upside down and place on a clean surface.

Removal of brackets




- Disconnect connector C on the control module.
- Undo the four screws.
- Remove brackets with the three motors.

Removal of right bracket




- Remove right bracket which is secured by six screws.

HHG4 Removal of drive gear




- Lay seat on right side.
- Remove right drive gear.
- Remove the two outer nuts.
- Remove the two screws.
- Remove circlip.

Removing drive cable




- Remove drive cables from motor and drive gear. It is secured with four screws.

Reinstalling drive cable




- Reinstall drive cable in drive gear. Tighten screws.
- Reinstall drive gear.
- Reinstall drive cable in motor.

CAUTION: Reinstall circlip.

Reinstalling brackets
- Reinstall brackets with motors.

Finishing off
- Reinstall seat in car.
- Cars with SIPS airbag: remove the safety device.
- Replace battery negative lead.
