Motors and Potentiometers

Motors
The four motors control the following functions:
- Motor 1 moves the seat backward and forward
- Motor 2 controls the backrest angle
- Motor 3 controls the height of the rear of the seat cushion
- Motor 4 controls the height of the front of the seat cushion

Motor 1, center motor in seat
The motor output is transferred via two drive cables to two drive gears, one right and one left. From these the output is transferred to the seat rails via a gear sector.

Motor 2, motor in backrest
The motor output is transferred via two drive cables to two drive gears at the backrest hinge, one right and one left.

Motor 3, rear motor in seat
The motor's output is transmitted via a drive cable to a drive gear and from there to the height adjuster via a gear sector.

Motor 4, front motor in seat
The motor's output is transferred by a drive cable to a drive gear. From there the output is transferred to the height adjuster via a gear sector.

Potentiometers
Potentiometer (5) acts as a position sensor and records the seat position where the seat is equipped with a control module with memory. They are driven by a worm gear located on the output shaft of each motor.

The resistance in the potentiometer is proportional to the output shaft position.
