Trouble Code Conditions
2-2-5 AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR SIGNALTrouble Code Conditions
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EFI-225 air conditioning (A/C) pressure sensor, signal is stored if the engine control module (ECM) receives a signal from the air conditioning pressure sensor corresponding to a pressure above 3,100 kPa (440.9 psi) (approx. 31 bar) (high signal) or below -81 kPa (-11.5 psi) (approx. -0.08 bar) (low signal).
When the engine is started with an engine temperature below +40°C (+104°F) air conditioning pressure should rise by at least 95 kPa (13.8 psi) within 8 seconds. Diagnostic trouble code EFI-225 is stored if pressure does not rise sufficiently.
Substitute value(s)
- The engine control module adopts a substitute value of 13.5 kPa (1.9 psi) when the air conditioning compressor is running
- Engine cooling fan (FC) fan runs at low-speed.
Possible source(s)
Signal too high:
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- Open-circuit in signal cable or ground lead.
- Contact resistance in terminals.
- Defective air conditioning pressure sensor.
Signal too low:
- Short-circuit to ground in signal cable.
- Open-circuit in power cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in power cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in accelerometer power cable.
- Defective air conditioning pressure sensor.
Faulty signal:
- Open-circuit in signal cable between pressure switch (Pressostat) and A/C compressor.
- Defective solenoid clutch/compressor.
- Defective air conditioning pressure sensor.
- Incorrect pressure in air conditioning system.
Fault symptom(s)
- Air conditioning compressor not running.
- Engine cooling fan running continuously.
