DTC EFI-112

1-1-2 FAULT IN ENGINE CONTROL MODULE

Trouble Code Conditions
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EFI-112 is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects a fault in the ROM/EPROM memory circuits, the knock control circuit (zero test, integrator test), or in the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor circuit NTC switch.

Substitute value(s)
Fault in the ROM/EPROM memory circuit:
- No substitute value.

Fault in knock control circuit (zero test, integrator test):
- Ignition advance reduced for safety reasons.

Fault in engine coolant temperature sensor circuit NTC switch:
- When the engine is started, a substitute value of +20°C (+68°F) is adopted, after the engine is started a value of +83°C (+181.4°F) is adopted.
- The engine cooling fan (FC) starts running at low-speed.
- Idle air trim adaptation disabled.
- Long-term fuel trim disabled.

Possible source(s)
- Fault in engine control module ROM/EPROM circuits.
- Fault in engine control module knock control circuit.
- Fault in engine control module engine coolant temperature sensor circuit (NTC switch).

Fault symptom(s)
- None.
