Draining the fuel tank
Warning!
Ensure that hose is secured to drainage unit before connecting to vehicle. This operation to be performed in a well-ventilated area.
The fuel tank must not be more than halfway full. Drain tank if necessary.
Note!
Insert the hose from the drain unit at least 1.0 meter (40.0"), into the filler neck / tank. Chamfer the end of the hose to allow it to pass all turns easily.

Draining the fuel system
Remove cap from valve on fuel rail.
Connect open end of adapter J-41031-A to the fuel drainage unit.
Connect the adapter to the valve on the fuel rail.

Raise the vehicle.
Remove the valve cap next to the fuel filter.
Connect bleeder hose 999 5480 to valve in front of fuel filter.
It takes approximately 2 minutes to drain the system.

Remove equipment
Remove fuel recovery unit from filler neck.
Note!
Do not forget to reinstall the caps over the valves.

Preparation
5-door car:
Remove all cover hatches and pull away the carpet.
Remove cover over the fuel pump unit.
4-door car:
Fold the back rest of the right rear seat forward.
Remove the luggage compartment carpet, 3 clips.
Pull the corners of the wheel housing panel at the shock absorber mount away.
Remove cover over the fuel pump unit.
