High Pressure Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

NOTE: In the 1995 High Side Cut-Off Switches switches 3, 4 and 5 are replaced by a linear sensor.





High Side Cut-Off Switches Switches:
^ Safety switch (3 - purple) (high-pressure cut-out). The safety switch stops the compressor if the pressure becomes too high:
over 28 bar (4O6 psi) for R12
over 30 bar (435 psi) for R134a.
^ High-pressure switch (4 - grey) (FC, high speed). Operate the blower (FC) in the high speed mode.
^ High-pressure switch (5 - brown) (FC, low speed). Operate the blower (FC) in the low speed mode.
