New features for B5234T4 engine in the 850 R

The model year 1996- 850 R has the following new features:

- New turbocharger (TC) with pressure regulator 150/60 set to = 20 kPa +/- 3 kPa (2.9 +/- 0.4 psi) at a 1 mm (0.04") control rod movement. Max boost pressure is 1.9 Bar (27.5 psi).
- New injector nozzles with a higher flow capacity (EV6 261 g/min).
- New manifold with an internal design that provides lower exhaust back pressure at high power output.
- New charge air (CAC) with a lower back pressure.
- The upper connecting rod bearing halves have a sputtered coating to allow them to survive the high forces they are subject to.
- New modified Motronic 4.3 engine control module (ECM).
- Fuel consumption is Euromix certified to 10.0 litres/100 km (17.0 qt/100 miles).

Low-level chassis: The 850 R has the same low ground clearance as the 850 T-5R. Extreme caution should be used when driving onto a four pillar hydraulic lift.

Transport protection: Transport protection and spring spacers are the same as those for the 850 T-5R.
