Fuel Rail: Service and Repair

Injection Manifold:

REMOVAL
1. Turn ignition OFF.
2. Remove injector shield.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors at fuel injectors.
4. Relieve fuel pressure at service valve. Catch excess fuel in suitable container.
5. Remove fuel supply hose.
6. Remove fuel return and vacuum hoses from pressure regulator and fuel rail.
7. Remove fuel rail (as one unit) with injectors and pressure regulator attached.
8. Disconnect clip at each injector and remove injectors.

INSTALLATION
1. Check the O-rings on all injectors. Replace if hard or damaged. Coat O-rings with Vaseline (or equivalent) before reinstalling injectors.
2. Reinstall fuel injectors into fuel rail.
3. Install and tighten fuel rail assembly onto intake manifold.
4. Reconnect all fuel and vacuum lines.
5. Reconnect all electrical connectors.
6. Start engine and check for leaks at fuel rail assembly.
7. Reinstall injector shield.
