C16 Checking the Motor Windings In the Door
C16 Checking the central locking motors windings in the door- Switch off ignition.
- Remove door panel on the door with the incorrect reading indicated in fault tracing at C15.
- Separate the connector halves on the connector for the central locking module.
- Connect an ohmmeter in front doors, between pos. 4 and pos. 5 in the 6-pin connector's pin section.
- Connect an ohmmeter in the rear doors, between pos. 1 and pos. 2 in the 2-pin connector's pin section.
- Connect an ohmmeter at trunk/tailgate;
4-door: between pos. 6 and pos. 7 in the central locking module's 8-pin integral connector's pin section.
5-door: between pos. 1 and pos. 2 in the 2-pin connector's pin section.
The ohmmeter should indicate 1 - 15 Ohms for all readings.
If all readings are OK:
Open circuit in cables between the connector in the door post and central locking module connector in the door.
- Correct fault or replace cable.
If reading is incorrect:
Open circuit or short circuit in the central locking module cable harness or central locking motor's winding on central locking module where readings indicated a fault. Check for open circuit on the cable.
- Correct fault or install new central locking motor. Replace central locking relay D/G.
