General
The central locking system permits the simultaneous locking or unlocking of all doors and the trunk/tailgate. The central locking system can be controlled remotely using a key-ring type radio transmitter. The system can also be activated using the key to the driver's door.

The central locking system is controlled by a central relay located in the central relay module in the car.

In the event of a power failure on the central locking system the doors and trunk/tailgate can be opened manually using the key or the door locking buttons and the door handle from inside the car.

The central locking system also controls the alarm system where fitted. For fault tracing alarm systems refer to Antitheft and Alarm Systems. Testing and Inspection

The locking system has 3 types of keys.

1. Master keys which operate all locks.
2. Service security keys which operate door locks but will not unlock the glove compartment or trunk/tailgate.
3. Wallet keys which operate all locks.
