NEW PISTONS AND PISTON RING SPECIFICATIONS
New pistons and piston rings have been introduced with effect from engine series number 396323.
Observe the following when replacing pistons:
In engines built prior to engine series number 396323 both the early and new pistons and ring kit can be used.
In engines built from and including engine series number 396323 the new type of rings and pistons must be used.
Important!
Rings of the later type may, under no circumstances, be used on pistons of the early type or vice versa.
