Voltage Signal: Description and Operation

Used by fuel injection and ignition ECU:
The battery supplies a constant 12 volt operating current to the ECUs. The ECUs need this voltage as their basic operation power and to retain information in the ECU memory.
The current is supplied even when the ignition switch is in the OFF position. The operating current can be disrupted by disconnecting the battery terminals.
