Engine Load Signal: Description and Operation

Used by the ignition ECU:
The engine load signal is supplied by the fuel injection ECU (1), which computes the intake manifold pressure (3) and intake air temperature (4) signals to generate the engine load signal.
This signal sent to the ignition ECU (2) is a digital (i.e. square wave pulses) output current (5) consisting of a duration proportional to the engine load.
