Oil Separator: Service and Repair
OIL TRAP SEAL REPLACEMENTRemove Intake Manifold
^ Remove the intake manifold.
Remove:
^ Hose from oil trap.
^ Intake manifold bracket.
^ Two oil trap screws.
^ Oil trap.
^ Check that oil trap seal surfaces are clean.
EARLY MODELS:
Install Oil Trap
^ Install new seals on the trap (coat seals with oil), tighten screws to 20 Nm (14.8 ft lb).
^ Install intake manifold bracket, finger tighten lower screw.
NOTE: If oil trap tips/turns when tightening, check that the seals have not lost their necks on the oil trap.
LATE MODELS:
Install Oil Trap
^ Connect two oil trap hoses to engine block connecting sleeve.
^ Install upper hose with a new hose clamp and tighten lower hose.
^ Install and tighten screws to 20 Nm (14.8 ft lb).
^ Install intake manifold bracket, finger tighten lower screw.
Install intake manifold
^ Re-Install the intake manifold.
