Bulb Replacement

A1
BULB REPLACEMENT

The headlamp bulbs are replaced from the engine compartment with the ignition and lighting both switched off.

Replacement of the right-hand bulb will be facilitated by removing the control module box ventilation pipe, and by unhooking the diagnostic unit and moving it to one side (see illustration A).

- Remove lamp cover by rotating counter-clockwise.

Removal of low beam (outer bulb) or high beam (inner bulb)

- Note position of bulb connector
- Rotate bulb socket counter clockwise and pull straight out
- Remove complete bulb unit and undo connector.

Caution:
Never touch the bulb glass with fingers. The bulb and/or reflector can be destroyed by the film formed on it by the evaporation of grease and oil from the glass.

- Replace bulb.
- Reconnect connector.
- Insert bulb unit by rotating bulb socket clockwise.

Note:
bulb fits only one way. Ensure that unit is positioned correctly.

- Refit cover. Rotate clockwise into position with 'TOP' marking uppermost.
- After work on right-hand side, reinstall ventilation pipe and diagnostic unit (see illustration A).

Test bulb operation.
