DTM 1 (Self Test)
Inputs:
- The microprocessor in the instrument panel can store up to 7 different kinds of fault. The control module has a memory for DTCs. This memory retains the DTCs even if the battery is disconnected for any length of time.
- Use this DTM to find out if some input signals to the instrument panel are missing or if the speed data signal leads are faulty. Speed data is something the instrument panel sends to a large number of other systems, such as the trip computer, cruise control, fuel and ignition system and automatic gearbox.
- For DTC diagnostics and remedies,
- Switch ignition on.
- Select DLC A terminal 7. General Information
- Press button once, briefly but firmly.
- You should now be in DTM 1.
- Note down any DTCs. Watch the LED, count the number of flashes and note down the DTC.
- Press the button again to see if there are any more DTCs to come.
- DTCs are displayed in the order in which they are stored.
- Once all DTCs have been displayed, they are repeated in the same order.
- Deal with any faults.
