Short Circuit to Ground [HA3]

Short-circuit To Ground

Short-circuit between a supply lead and ground usually means the fuse blows when power is switched on to the lead or something does not work.

Checks:
- Activate all switches and sensors in circuit and check if fuse blows.
- Disconnect connectors to components in circuit so they do not affect readings.

Using an ohmmeter, measure between lead and ground. Ohmmeter should read infinite resistance if no components are connected.

Check for intermittent short circuit to ground:
- Check lead visually as per HA1. Check Connections Visually [HA1]

- Shake lead gently and pull on connectors gently while testing to find where lead is damaged.
