Floor carpets, replacement 850

REFERENCE: TP 8201201; SECTION 8 (82-86, 88) INTERIOR, EXTERIOR 850 1993->.

Floor carpets, replacement

Original floor carpets in the car are fitted in one piece. As a replacement part the floor carpets are available in three sections, one left front, one right front and one rear. This means that the front or rear section which is to be replaced must be cut away from the section that is left in the car.

Depending on which section is to be replaced the carpet is cut differently. This SB describes where to cut the carpet and how the carpet should be replaced.

The method for replacement of floor carpet is described in the above referenced manual.

CAUTION:
Use care when cutting carpet to prevent from damaging harnesses.

Replacement of front floor carpet (left & right)

Remove old carpet:

- Cut carpet along upper edge of the rear side of the cross member (A).

Install new carpet:

- Overlap the old section of rear carpet down to (B):

Note:
The carpets must not overlap over the top of the cross member, because it may interfere with the seat mounting.

Replacement of rear floor carpet

Remove old carpet:

- Cut old carpet along the lower edge (B) of the cross member.

Install new carpet:

- Lay under the front carpet overlap.

Note:
The carpets must not overlap over the top of the cross member, because it may interfere with the seat mounting.
