Replacement of upholstery fabric on inner sunroof panel
The upholstery fabric, edge moulding and double-sided adhesive tape on the inner sunroof panel can be replaced as components are stocked as replacement parts. This bulletin describes the procedure for replacing the upholstery. See the service manual for instructions on the removal and Installation of the panel.
The P/Ns refer to kits containing the fabric, edge moulding and tape.
Removal of edge moulding
- Pull moulding (A) away from large panel (see illustration).
Installation of new adhesive tape
- Attach new double-sided adhesive tape as indicated by shaded areas in illustration.
Note:
Black areas indicate where tape is to be attached later.
Installation of new moulding
- Install new moulding, start at point (A). Ensure that moulding is well fitted at corners and that ends meet at (A).
Attachment of new fabric to smaller panel
- Stretch and fold fabric around edges in order shown (A, B, C) and press hard into position against tape.
Note:
(B) refers only to corner pieces. Tape should be covered completely by fabric.
Attachment of new fabric to larger panel
- Stretch and fold fabric around edges in order shown (A to G) and press hard into position against tape.
Note:
(C) refers only to corner pieces, which should be folded as shown in circled illustration.
- Attach pieces of tape (black areas in illustration) to earlier folds and at other points on panel where there is no tape.
- Stretch and fold remaining fabric and press hard into position against tape.
Note:
Tape should be covered completely by fabric.
Reassemble panels
Reinstall small panel in large panel.
