Radio Interference

Suppression of headlamp washer and wiper motors (procedures A and B)

Headlamp wiper and washer motors may cause radio interference on the FM band. Interference of this type may be eliminated by installing suppressed wiper motors, and by installing a suppressor between the washer pump and the existing wiring.

Check ground lead (procedure C)

In order to suppress crackling interference on the AM band (long wave and medium wave) from the ignition system, a ground lead between body and engine has been factory installed. Check the ground lead connection.
