Crankcase Ventilation System - Updated

CRANKCASE VENTILATION HOSE REPLACEMENT

When replacing the crankcase ventilation hose from the oil trap to the flameguard, the following procedure should be performed.

The material kit, P/N 271867-4 consists of an entire crankcase ventilation hose, with connection pieces and vacuum hose between multiple nipple and flameguard housing.

To install connection piece to the oil trap, use press tool P/N 9995549.

Remove:
^ Cover over injectors.
^ Cover over throttle mechanism.





Disconnect:
^ Hose clamp by oil trap and then connection piece (8).

NOTE: Clamp can be removed by using a long screwdriver through the opening between intake manifold runer # 1 and # 2.

^ Vacuum hose (3) from multiple nipple to flameguard housing.
^ Hose to Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve (6) (from fresh air hose).
^ Fresh air hose from Throttle Body (TB) and Air Cleaner (ACL) (7).

CAUTION: Be careful not to crack the fresh air hose housing at the flameguard.

^ Lift out fresh air hose with flameguard housing (2) and crankcase ventilation hose (1).





Disconnect:
^ Both white hoses from multiple nipple.
^ Multiple nipple (4).
^ Connector from IAC valve.
^ IAC valve (5).

Clean:
^ Flameguard housing (2), after the flameguard has been removed (discard the flameguard).

Note: The nipple for the small hose on flameguard housing (3) has a calibrated hole with a 2.5 mm diameter. (Use a drill bit to clean).

^ Multiple nipple (4), (inputs and outputs) (use a 3 mm drill bit to clean).
^ IAC valve, (blow clean in both directions)

Install:
^ IAC valve (5).
^ Connector on IAC valve.
^ Multiple nipple (4).
^ Both white hoses from multiple nipple.
^ New flameguard (not included in kit).
^ New vacuum hose between multiple nippleflameguard housing (included in the kit) (3).
^ New crankcase ventilation plastic pipe (1) complete with connection pieces to oil trap (included in the kit) (8) and flameguard housing.

Note: Apply small amount of grease to rubber connection piece at oil trap end of crankcase ventilation plastic pipe.





^ Use press tool 999 5549 (make sure that the inner diameter of the tool is approximately 15 mm, adjust if necessary). Hose does not need to be clamped.

Note: Make sure that the hose does not interfere with the throttle linkage.

^ Fresh air hose to TB and ACL (7).
^ Hose to IAC valve (6) (from fresh air hose).
^ Cover over injectors.
^ Cover over throttle mechanism.
