Greasing of timing belt tensioner pulley

On engines with automatic timing belt tensioners, the lever bushing must be greased every time the belt is replaced or the tensioner pulley removed. This is necessary to help prevent seizure of the bushing, with the possible risk of incorrect belt tension.

Greasing of bushing

Remove:
- lever mounting bolt
- tensioner pulley
- sleeve behind bolt

Grease surfaces of bushing, bolt and sleeve with grease, p/n 1161246-2 (50 g).

Reinstall:
- sleeve
- tensioner pulley
- lever mounting bolt

Tighten bolt to 40 N-m (30 ft.lb.).
