Reinforcement for mounting for carpeted floor mat, driver side




The mountings for fastening the carpeted floor mats occasionally loosen from the floor carpet. A reinforcement has been introduced which can be attached using new mountings on the underside of the front carpet and locked in place with new metal clips. The reinforcement looks like a ruler with two holes for the mounting's fasteners, see illustration.

The reinforcement is included in a materials kit containing: 2 mountings, 2 metal clips and a reinforcement section.

The kit number is P/N 9134851-6 and is available only as a complete kit.


Installation of reinforced fastener

- Pull off the threshold plate (door sill) molding and raise carpet.
- Out off and remove the old mountings.
- Locate reinforcement section under holes in the carpet.




- Install mountings and screw them through holes in reinforcement Use new metal clips on the mountings fastening.
- Use pliers to hold the metal clip and screw in mountings until they turn (easily) in the metal clip.
- Reinstall original carpet.
- Reinstall threshold plate (door sill) molding.
