Turbo Boost
TESTING PROCEDURE:NOTE: While trouble shooting, always check the wiring, fuses and connectors for good condition and routing. Use the wiring diagrams found in SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS to supplement your testing efforts.
Throttle Position Sensor Adjustment:
1. Turn ignition OFF.
2. Check the throttle position sensor adjustment by opening the throttle slightly and listen for a "click" (idle switch opening).
a. If the "click" occur's immediately after throttle opening, proceed to step 7.
b. If the "click" does not occur immediately after throttle opening, proceed to next step.
3. Loosen throttle position sensor mounting bolts (3mm hex).
4. Turn sensor slightly clockwise.
5. Turn sensor counter-clockwise until the switch "clicks". Tighten mounting bolts.
6. Recheck setting as in step 2.
7. Disconnect turbo boost ECU connector.
8. Check throttle position sensor by connecting an ohmmeter between ground and pin 5 (white-black) at ECU connector.
Reading: infinite (full load switch open)
9. Depress gas pedal fully.
Reading: 0 ohm (full load switch closed)
10. If a fault occurs, repeat these steps by measuring the resistance at the throttle position sensor. The center pin is ground.
a. If resistance reading is the same, replace the throttle position sensor and retest.
b. If resistance reading is correct, check wiring, ground and connectors. Fix as necessary.
11. Disconnect the test equipment. Reconnect the ECU and all other connectors.
