Inspection

Inspecting Fuses and Seat Functions

Check that fuses with the correct amperage are installed for all seat functions. The correct fuses are shown in decals or in the Owners Manual.

Check seat power functions.

Malfunctions that are determined to have been caused by chafed cables according to this bulletin must be replaced.

Other conditions are not covered by this campaign.

Note!
Before removing the seat wiring from the car's main wiring harness, the seat should be as far to the rear as possible and the cushion at the front and rear edge as high as possible.

Remove Seat from Floor

Remove the seat from the floor according to the method shown in the Service Manual and place it with the backrest on the rear seat.

Note!
The seat belt does not need to be removed.

Position a box under the seat rails so that the underside of the seat is accessible.

Make sure that the seat rails do not scratch any interior surfaces.

Inspecting Cables

Ensure wiring is in good condition and is correctly routed.

Excessively worn cables must be replaced.

The cable must be clamped adequately so that no new damage can occur.
