Service Bulletin Gr. 28, No. 102 dated May, 1991 provided repair details covering the fuel control unit EProm exchange program.

Rather than replacing complete control units, E-Proms are now available and must be used for repairs to improve cold starting. This policy also supercedes Service Manager Bulletin Gr. 23, No. 24 issued November, 1990.


The specific Bosch production data code information for E-Prom replacement provided in Service Bulletin Gr. 28, No. 102 must be followed. 1989 and 1990 model year vehicles with ECC date codes of 949 and earlier must not have the E-Prom replacement.


NOTE: Replacement of the control unit for LH 2.4 and 3.1 system, for 1990 model year and greater, will require authorization from your RMP/S. This policy is effective with repair orders dated on or after July 22, 1991.
