Temperature Sensor Check

Check if a white marking is wrapped around sender cable harness. If not, sender must be replaced. However, first check E.G.R. upper pipe. Fig. 166.

IMPORTANT:
Sender Is extremely sensitive to shock and Impact. Handle with care.
Tightening torque:
7-13 Nm (5-9.5 ft.lb or 60-110 in.lb)

Sender with white marking:

- Measure resistance between terminal 14 (ground) and terminal 22 on control unit connector. Fig. 167.
- Resistance should be 500-1000 ohm.

Check wiring and connections, ground terminal on intake manifold and resistance of sender connector. Fig. 168.
