The clip, P/N 1362490-3, which secures the printed circuit board to the speedometer circuit can crack or fit too loosely. This results in an inoperative or erratically-working speedometer. In this case, check the clip for damage or loose fit and replace the clip if necessary.

An improved clip is installed on cars manufactured after September 86.
