1985 M/Y Turbo diesels were equipped with a glow plug control unit which does not illuminate the dash preheating indicator light above an engine temperature of 50~C (122~F).

The 1986 M/Y glow plug control unit has been modified to illuminate the dash preheating indicator light up to an engine temperature of 70~C (158~F).

If a 1985 M/Y Turbo diesel requires prolonged cranking time to start when the engine is warm, the 1986 M/Y control unit, Part No. 1363438-1, may be installed.
