Injector Deviation

This test is necessary only in the case of a definite engine malfunction.
1. Perform steps 1 through 5 in Fuel Injectors & Fuel Distributor Tests above.
2. Lift (on B-21) or depress (on B-28) the air sensor plate half way until one of the measuring tubes has been filled to 3.4 oz. (100cc).
3. Read the remaining tubes. Maximum deviation is 20%. To obtain correct readings, all hoses must be either empty or full at the start of the test.
4. If readings are incorrect, repeat the test to confirm the results.
5. If test results are incorrect, swap two injector hoses at the fuel distributor (exchange hoses of one correct and one incorrect operating injector).
6. Repeat test.
7. If the same injector still performs improperly, the injector or its fuel line is faulty.
8. If fault changes to the other injector, the fault is in the fuel distributor.
