Exhaust Gas Recirculation every 15,000 miles
-An indicator lamp will light every time the E.G.R. system is due for service (at 15,000 miles). Fig. 183.
- To clean the E.G.R. system, tap all parts lightly with a small mallet to remove carbon deposits.
- Remove dirt from channels and nipples with a screwdriver and blow parts clean with compressed air.
- Special care should be taken to ensure that valve seat in E.G.R. valve is free of carbon.
Fig. 180a RESET BUTTON:
- To reset indicator lamp, locate the reset switch mounted on the back of speedometer. Remove retaining screw and switch cover. Press reset button (Fig. 180a.). Ensure indicator lamp is off. Install switch cover.
