Malfunction Test 1

1. Connect dwell meter to system test connector.
2. Turn ignition switch to ``On'' position, but do not start engine.
3. Disconnect electrical connector at air flow sensor.
4. Proceed to Malfunction Test specified according to existing condition as follows:
a. If frequency valve makes buzzing sound but dwell reading is not 49-59°, perform ``Malfunction Test 2.''
b. If there is no buzzing sound from frequency valve and dwell reading is 0°, perform ``Malfunction Test 3.''
c. If there is no buzzing sound from frequency valve and dwell reading is either 49-59° or 90°, perform ``Malfunction Test 4.''
d. If frequency valve makes buzzing sound but there is no dwell reading, perform ``Malfunction Test 10.''
5. Turn ignition switch to ``Off'' position, connect electrical connector at air flow sensor, and disconnect dwell meter.
6. Perform ``System Test.''
