THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS APPLICABLE TO THE U.S. AND CANADIAN MARKETS
With increasingly sophisticated engine management systems working on lower current flow than traditional systems, the need to perform systematic diagnosis of electrical components/connectors to ensure electrical continuity is more critical.
This bulletin provides supplemental information to that currently contained in appropriate Service Manuals. It outlines detailed sequential testing procedures to minimize diagnosis time, while improving repair quality and reliability, to cover any of the following failure symptoms:
1. Engine does not start.
2. Erratic idle (warm engine), or engine may stall during coast down, just before a complete stop.
3. Engine misfires or stalls, and can be restarted.
- engine lacks power or surges
- heavy combustion knock is experienced
- owner complains, but conditions cannot be duplicated by technician
NOTE! Diagnosis and repair instructions for each symptom is listed
in the order to be performed
