If positioned too close to the panel edge, the felt spacer at the left and right rear edges of the sunroof panel will act as a "blotter" and will attract moisture. Once the material is saturated, water will run along the guide rails, and enter the interior of the car.

Procedure:

Remove a piece of the felt to create a minimum clearance of 5 mm between it and the panel edge.

Remove accessory wind deflector (if fitted).

Open sunroof half way.

Remove air deflector (if fitted). Deflector is held by four mounting screws.

Unhook sunroof panel headliner at front edge. Headliner is attached by clips.

Push headliner back to expose panel mountings.

Remove sunroof panel

- Close sunroof

- Bend aside flat springs (1)
- Remove screws from front and rear mountings (four screws on either side).

Note:
Carefully position orientation of rear mounting reinforcing brackets (2). Brackets must be reinstalled in the same position.

Lift off sunroof panel and place on surface which will not damage paintwork.

Cut end or felt spacer

Clearance between felt and panel edge should be minimum of 5 mm.

Note:
Do not cut too much or felt may loosen.

Reinstall sunroof panel.

Check sunroof panel alignment.

Check that leakage has been eliminated.

Reinstall all components.
