Electro-Drive Drive Motor Separating from and Installing to Transmission

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Shop Crane - Load Cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100)

Lift Arm Ext./Workshop Hoist (VAS 6101)

Shackle (10-222 A/12)

Requirement:

The engine and the electro-drive drive motor with transmission are separated, refer to => [ Electro-Drive Drive Motor and Transmission, Separating from and Installing to Engine ] Electro-Drive Drive Motor and Transmission, Separating from and Installing to Engine.

Separating:

- Remove the sealing cap - 1 -. Remove the 3 torque converter bolts - arrow - through the opening in the transmission. To do this, rotate the input shaft 120°.






- Support the electro-drive drive motor using the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100) as illustrated.






- Remove the bolts - 1 through 10 - that connect the transmission to the electro-drive drive motor.






- Remove the electro-drive drive motor with the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100).

- Use the bracket (30-211 A) to prevent the torque converter from falling out.






Assembling:

Replace the bolts.

- Make sure the alignment sleeves - arrows - are installed in the electro-drive drive motor.






- Make sure the bolts - 1 - are installed correctly inside the torque converter - 2 -.

- Position the electro-drive drive motor on the transmission using the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100) as illustrated.






- Tighten the bolts - 1 through 10 - that secure the transmission to the electro-drive drive motor.






Tightening specification: 30 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn. Replace the bolts.

- Tighten the 3 torque converter bolts - arrow - through the opening in the transmission. To do this, rotate the input shaft 120°. Install the cap - 1 -.






Tightening specification: 60 Nm
