Engine Oil Cooler






Engine Oil Cooler

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining ] Coolant, Draining.

- Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.

- Remove the left or right lower intake manifold. Refer to one of the following:

=> [ Lower Intake Manifold, Left Side ] Lower Intake Manifold, Left Side.

=> [ Lower Intake Manifold, Right Side ] Lower Intake Manifold, Right Side.

- Remove the high pressure pump toothed belt. Refer to => [ High Pressure Fuel Pump Toothed Belt ] High Pressure Fuel Pump Toothed Belt.

- Remove the high pressure pump. Refer to => [ High Pressure Fuel Pump ] High Pressure Fuel Pump.

- Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler. Refer to => [ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler ] Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler.

- Cover the area around the oil cooler with cloths to collect leaking oil.

- Remove the bolts - 1 through 5 - and the engine oil cooler.






Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Replace the upper coolant pipe seals and O-ring.

- Add engine oil and check the oil level. Refer to => [ Engine Oil ] Service Precautions.

- Fill the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Filling ] Coolant, Filling.
