External Starting Point With Suppressor (C24)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and turn the key to the 0 position.

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.

• Air filter housing is removed for reasons of clarity. It is not required when doing repairs.

- Open the clip - arrow A - and over the cover - 1 - over the positive terminal grip.






- Open the cover - 2 - over the electric wires in - direction of arrow B -.

- Remove the nuts - 5 - and - 6 - and disconnect the positive cables from the threaded connectors.






- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the suppressor - 4 -.

- Remove the screw - 3 - and the positive terminal grip - 2 - and the suppressor from the bracket.

Installing

Install in reverse order.

- Tighten the nuts - 5 - and - 6 - to 15 Nm.

- Tighten the bolt - 3 - to 9 Nm.

- Connect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.
