Steering Column Upper Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Release lever (T10039)

• Trim removal wedge (3409)

Removing

- Release the steering column adjustment lever.

- Pull the steering column out, push it all the way down and lock it.

- Remove the driver side airbag unit. Refer to => [ Airbag Unit with Igniter ] Airbag Unit with Igniter.

- Remove the steering wheel.

- Loosen the trim on the top of the steering column - 1 - off the lower steering column trim - 2 - using trim removal wedge (3409).

- Loosen the trim piece on the top of the steering column - 1 - off the mounts on the instrument cluster and remove it.






- Remove the bolts - 1 - from the lower steering column trim piece - 2 - (2.5 Nm).

- Loosen the steering column adjustment locking lever.

- Remove the steering column lower trim piece - 2 - from the steering column.






Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.
