Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail Overview






1 Bolt

2.5 Nm

2 Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor

Right side, intake manifold runner position sensor.

Left side, intake manifold runner position sensor 2, remove the front coolant pipe to access. Refer to => [ Front Coolant Pipe ] Front Coolant Pipe.

3 Seal

Replace if damaged.

Lift out with screwdriver to replace.

Press in by hand.

4 Sleeve

5 Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247)

22 Nm

Lubricate the threads.

6 Bracket

7 Bolt

9 Nm

8 High Pressure Line

Danger of personal injury from the high fuel pressure!

Reduce the fuel pressure down to residual pressure before opening high pressure area of the fuel injection system.

27 Nm

Release the high side fuel pressure. Refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Releasing ] Service and Repair.

Connectors should not show any signs of damage.

Do not change the shape of the line.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ High Pressure Line ] Service and Repair.

Counter hold the connecting piece when loosening and tightening the fuel line.

Tighten fuel line connecting piece before installing the fuel line.

Always replace

17 Lower Intake Manifold

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail ] Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail.

After replacing the control valve control unit, perform an "adaptation" in "Guided Functions" using the vehicle diagnostic tester.

18 Gasket

Always replace

19 Support Ring

Make sure it fits correctly.

The fuel rail wields force via the support ring to hold the fuel injector tightly in the cylinder head.

20 O-ring

Always replace.

Lubricate with clean engine oil.

21 Spacer Ring

Replace if damaged.

22 Fuel Injector

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Injectors ] Service and Repair.

23 Washer

Always replace.

24 Combustion Chamber Seal

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Injectors ] Service and Repair.

Do not lubricate or use other lubricants.

25 Seal

Replace if damaged.

Lift out with screwdriver to replace.

Press in by hand.

26 Actuator Lever

For the vacuum actuator.

27 Vacuum Hose

To the intake manifold runner control valve.

Lower Intake Manifold Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





- Tighten the bolts and nuts - arrows - in a diagonal sequence and in steps to 10 Nm.
