Removing

• If tank lid does not open, it can be opened by hand via the release rod - 7 -. For this, the right side luggage compartment trim must be removed..

- Open fuel tank door lid.

- Remove fuel tank cap.

- Remove bolt - 4 -.

- Pull rubber piece of fuel tank lid unit - 2 - from fuel tank filler neck - 1 -.

- Pull fuel tank lid unit- 2 - with drain hose - 3 - toward rear and swivel fuel tank lid unit out of side panel.

- Unclip assembly piece - 5 - from side panel and pull off assembly piece from release rod - 7 -.





Installing

• Assembly piece - 5 - is slid on.

- Insert drain hose - 3 - through opening in fuel tank lid unit - 2 - and pull drain hose through until it stops.

- Guide drain hose into side panel.

- Slide fuel tank lid unit - 2 - with hinge side first into side panel.

- Then swivel fuel tank lid unit completely onto side panel.

Make sure that catches of fuel tank lid unit - 2 - at top and bottom engage correctly in the side panel.

- Pull rubber piece of fuel tank lid unit over filler neck and tighten bolt - 4 -.

Tightening specification for bolt - 4 -: 1.5 Nm

- Check correct function of unlocking components.
