Windshield Washer System

CAUTION!
When disconnecting and connecting battery, the procedure must be followed as described in the repair information. Refer to=> [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Pry lever (80-200)

• Puller (T10369)

Removing

- Deactivate APP function. Refer to=> [ Wiper Motor Alternating Park Position Function, Deactivating ] Testing and Inspection.

- Let wiper run into rest position and then switch off ignition.

- Disconnect battery. Refer to=> [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

• In order to be able to remove wiper frames with linkages and wiper motor, wiper arms plenum chamber cover, and air guide trim must be removed.

Installing





- Install wiper frame in reverse sequence. While installing, securing pin - 2 - of wiper frame must be inserted into grommet - 1 - on bulkhead.

- Tighten all threaded connections to the specification. Refer to=> [ Specifications ] Specifications.

- Connect harness connector to wiper motor connection and engage it.

- Install air duct trim in reversed sequence.

- Install plenum chamber cover

- Reconnect battery. Refer to=> [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Install wiper arms. Refer to=> [ Wiper Arms ] Service and Repair.
