With Plastic Intake Manifold






Intake Manifold

Removing

CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions when disconnecting the battery.

- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground (GND) cable.

- Pull the cover - 1 - forward and remove it upward.





- Disconnect the connector - 1 - and disconnect the vacuum lines - arrows -.





- Disconnect the connector - 1 - and remove the pipe connector - 2 -.





CAUTION!
Fuel system is under pressure! Always follow safety measures before opening the system. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Safety Precautions.

- Place a cloth around the union nut - 3 - and carefully loosen it to lower the fuel pressure.

- Remove the distribution piece from the intake manifold - arrows - and remove the hose - 4 -.

- Move the distribution piece with the supply line still connected to the side.

- Remove the bleeder hose - arrow - from intake manifold.





- Remove Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve (N80) - 1 - down from bracket.

- Clamp off the coolant hoses on the connection for the crankcase housing ventilation using the hose clamp (3094).





- Remove the coolant hoses - arrows - from the crankcase ventilation connector.

- Remove the bolts - 1 - and turn the connection upward.

- Remove the vacuum hose - 1 - from the intake manifold. Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the throttle valve control module (J338) and loosen the hose clamp - arrow -.





- Remove the pipe clamps - arrows - from the intake manifold.





- Loosen and then remove the intake manifold bolts - 5 through 1 - in sequence.





- Remove the intake manifold and throttle valve control module (J338) from the engine compartment. Pay attention to the vacuum connection on the intake manifold - arrow -.





Plug the intake ports of the cylinder head with clean cloths.

Installing

- Check the gaskets in the intake manifold for damage and correct fit.

- Mount the intake manifold so that the throttle valve control module (J338) fits into the air guide pipe. Pay attention to the vacuum connection on the intake manifold - arrow -.





- Make sure the hoses or cables do not get caught.

- Tighten intake manifold bolts - 1 to 5 - in sequence. Tightening specifications => [ (Item 11) Bolt ] Description and Operation.





- Connect the pipe clamps to the intake manifold - arrows -.





The rest of the installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Procedure when tightening the fuel supply line union nuts, refer to => [ Hand-tighten the union nuts for the high-pressure
lines. ] Service and Repair.
