Disconnect battery before removing components marked with**.







1. Instrument panel**
2. Center air vents

3. Right side window defroster air duct
- In right A-pillar

4. Right air vent

5. Heating and ventilation controls
- With Fresh Air/Recirculating Flap Switch E159
- With Immediate Heating Button E537 where applicable

6. Fresh/Recirculating Air Door Motor V154
7. Right footwell air vent

8. Fresh Air Blower V2
- Depending on unit configuration, blower on vehicle may not be exactly as shown here

9. Fresh Air Blower Series Resistor With Fuse N24

10. Heating and ventilation unit partition
- Removing

11. Sealing caps
- Only in vehicles without air guide to vent installed in center console at rear

12. Dust and pollen filter
- With activated charcoal filter

13. Center console air duct
- Connection to center console air guide
- To remove, center console must be removed.

14. Right rear footwell air duct

15. Left rear footwell air duct

16. Screws
- Qty. 8
- Observe varying lengths

17. Heating and ventilation control adapter
18. Auxiliary Heater Heating Element Z35
- Only on models with Diesel engine

19. Heater core
- After replacing heater core, coolant must be replaced completely.

20. Left footwell air vent

21. Temperature flap bowden cable
22. Air distribution control - flexible cable
23. Heating and ventilation unit
- Disassembly and assembly

24. Left side window defroster air duct
- In left A-pillar







Heating and ventilation unit partition, removing
- Remove screws -2- and partition -1-.







Heating and ventilation unit seal at bulkhead, installation position
- First install seal -A- on bulkhead, then engage on heater core.

NOTE: To prevent ingress of water into vehicle interior, note installation position.
