Sealing flanges and drive plate, Assembly overview

Note:
^ Engine is to be secured to Engine and Transmission Holder VAS 6095 for performing assembly work.





1 - Gasket
^ Replace

2 - Sealing flange
^ With seal
^ To remove and install, remove oil pan
^ Must be located on alignment bushings
^ Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth
^ Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of sealing ring
^ To install, use provided support sleeve
^ Support sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto crankshaft pin.
^ If sealing flange is not replaced, use assembly tool T10122 to install.

3 - Shim
^ 2 mm thick

4 - Drive plate
^ Use crankshaft holder 3242 to loosen and tighten.

5 - Washer
^ 3.4 mm thick

6 - 30 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace

7 - 10 Nm
8 - 15 Nm
9 - Cylinder block
10 - Oil pan
11 - Bolt
^ M7 = 15 Nm
^ M8 = 22 Nm

12 - Roller chain
^ Before removing, mark the direction of rotation, e.g. with paint
^ Do not mark using a center punch or similar means

13 - Chain sprocket
^ For crankshaft

14 - Thrust collar
^ If signs of wear exist, pull off and turn around or replace

15 - Gasket
^ Replace

16 - Sealing flange (belt pulley side)
^ Must be located on alignment bushings
^ Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth

17 - O-ring
^ Replace

18 - Spray nozzle valve, 35 Nm
19 - Seal
20 - Crankshaft toothed belt sprocket
^ Only possible to install in one position
^ To remove, lock crankshaft using crankshaft holder 3242

21 - 200 Nm plus an additional 1/2 turn (180°)
^ Replace
^ Do not add lubricant
^ Additional rotation can occur in several stages

22 - Vibration damper/belt pulley
^ For ribbed belt
^ To remove, lock crankshaft using crankshaft holder 3242

23 - 22 Nm
24 - 25 Nm
25 - Cover
