Shift Mechanism

Lubricate bearing areas and slide surfaces with grease ( G 000 450 02).





1 Selector lever handle

Removing and installing => [ Selector Lever Handle ] Selector Lever Handle

2 Sleeve

Engages in selector lever handle

Locks removal of selector lever handle

3 Cover

With symbol insert

Removing and installing => [ Selector Mechanism Cover and Circuit Board ] Selector Mechanism Cover and Circuit Board

4 Printed circuit board

Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)/ (VAS 5052)

Removing and installing => [ Selector Mechanism Cover and Circuit Board ] Selector Mechanism Cover and Circuit Board

5 Frame

With cover strips

Disassembling and assembling => [ Selector Mechanism Frame ] Selector Mechanism Frame

6 Shift mechanism

Removing and installing => [ Shift Mechanism ] Shift Mechanism

With integrated Tiptronic Switch (F189) and Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587)

7 Bolt, 6 Nm

3x

8 Circlip

9 Nut

10 Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)

Removing and installing => [ Shift Lock Solenoid ] Service and Repair

Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)/ (VAS 5052)

11 Bolt

12 Seal

13 Locking cable

For ignition key removal lock

Must not be kinked

Removing and installing => [ Locking Cable ] Service and Repair

Adjusting => [ Locking Cable, Adjusting ] Locking Cable, Adjusting

Ignition key removal lock, checking function => [ Ignition Key Lock, Checking Function ]

14 Selector lever cable

Do not bend or kink

If protective sleeve is damaged, selector lever cable must be replaced

Checking and adjusting => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking ] Selector Lever Cable, Checking

Removing and installing => [ Selector Lever Cable ] Removal and Replacement

Do not grease cable eyelet and ball socket

15 Cover

For selector mechanism

With glued seal

16 Self-locking nut, 10 Nm

For cover at shift mechanism housing

4x

Always replace
