Glow plugs, checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





^ Adapter set V.A.G 1594C





^ Voltage tester V.A.G 1527B

Requirements
^ Battery voltage at least 11.5 V
^ Ignition switched off

Work sequence
Check activation of glow plugs.





- Disconnect connector - 1 - from glow plug pin.
- Connect cable of voltage tester V.A.G 1527B with clips from adapter set V.A.G 1594C to battery positive (+).
- Touch test pick of voltage tester V.A.G 1527B to every glow plug pin one after another.
^ Diode lights up = glow plug OK
^ Diode does not light up = replace glow plug
