NOTE:
- Cylinder bank 1 is located on right side in direction of travel.
- Cylinder bank 2 is located on left side in direction of travel.

1. 25 Nm
- Always replace
- Coat threads with G 052 112 A3 locking compound
2. 25 Nm
- Always replace
- Coat threads with G 052 112 A3 locking compound
3. Exhaust manifold
- For cylinder bank 1
- Can only be replaced with the engine removed:
4. Hex nut
- M8 = 25 Nm
- M10 = 40 Nm
5. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) -G39- bank 1*, 50 Nm
- For cylinder bank 1
- Only grease threads with G 052 112 A3 locking compound, do NOT allow locking compound to get into slots on sensor body
- Check oxygen sensor heater for oxygen sensors before Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC).
- Check Oxygen Sensors (O2S) and oxygen sensor control before Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)
6. Primary catalytic converter
- For cylinder bank 1
7. Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) -G130- bank 1*, 50 Nm
- For cylinder bank 1
- Only grease threads with G 052 112 A3 locking compound, do NOT allow locking compound to get into slots on sensor body
- Check oxygen sensor heater for Oxygen Sensors (O2S) behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC).
- Check Oxygen Sensors (O2S) and oxygen sensor control behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC).
8. Catalytic converter with front exhaust pipe
- For cylinder bank 1

- Note installation position, see Fig. 3

14. Gasket
- Always replace
15. Hex nut
- M8 = 25 Nm
- M10 = 40 Nm
16. Bracket
- For transmission support, right
17. Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 2 Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) -G131- bank 2*, 50 Nm
- For cylinder bank 2
- Only grease threads with G 052 112 A3 locking compound, do NOT allow locking compound to get into slots on sensor body
- Check oxygen sensor heater for Oxygen Sensors (O2S) behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)
- Check Oxygen Sensors (O2S) and oxygen sensor control behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)
18. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 -G108-*, 50 Nm
- For cylinder bank 2
- Only grease threads with G 052 112 A3 locking compound, do NOT allow locking compound to get into slots on sensor body
- Check oxygen sensor heater for oxygen sensors before Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)
- Check Oxygen Sensors (O2S) and oxygen sensor control before Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)

- For cylinder bank 2
