Engine Oil Check Valve: Service and Repair

Oil check valves, replacing

Note: If irregular valve noise occurs repeatedly during short journeys and disappears after extended driving, the oil check valves must be replaced.

Removing
- Remove intake manifold with throttle valve control module.
- Remove breather housing under intake manifold.





Engines with oil pump without chain drive
1 - Oil check valve, 25 Nm
2 - Oil line of spray jet valve for piston cooling spray jets, 15 Nm





Engines with oil pump with chain drive
1 - O-ring, replace
2 - O-ring, replace
3 - Oil check valve for left cylinder head, 20 Nm
4 - Banjo bolt, 15 Nm
5 - Spray jet valve for piston cooling spray jets, 25 Nm
6 - Oil line
7 - O-ring, replace
8 - Oil check valve for right cylinder head, 20 Nm
9 - O-ring, replace

Installing
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
