Rear Engine Plate: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Sealing Flange, Flywheel SideSpecial Tools and Workshop Equipment Required:
- Pulling Fixture -T10122-
Sealing Flange, Removing
- Remove the transmission, please refer to: Vehicle/ Transmission and Drivetrain/ Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/ Service and Repair/ Service and Repair or Vehicle/ Transmission and Drivetrain/ Manual Transmission/ Service and Repair/
- Remove flywheel / driveplate, please refer to: Vehicle/ Transmission and Drivetrain/ Flywheel/ Service and Repair/ Procedures or Vehicle/ Transmission and Drivetrain/ Driveplate/ Service and Repair/ Procedures
- Remove upper part of oil pan, please refer to: Vehicle/ Engine,Cooling and Exhaust/ Engine Lubrication/ Oil Pan, Engine/ Service and Repair/ Service and Repair.
- Unscrew sealing flange.
Sealing Flange, Installing
NOTE:
- Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal.
- If the sealing flange was supplied with a support sleeve, then the support sleeve can be also used for the installation.
- Clean sealing surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.
- Before installing, remove oil remains from end of crankshaft with a clean cloth.
- Connect the assembly sleeves -T10122/1- and -T10122/2-.
- Slide the sealing flange -A- with its outer side on the assembly sleeves.
- Disconnect the assembly sleeves.
- Position the sealing flange -A- with the assembly sleeve -T10122/2- on the crankshaft and slide the sealing flange onto the crankshaft pin.
- Tighten the mounting bolts to 10 Nm.
The rest of the assembly is basically a reverse of the disassembling sequence.
