Valve Body For Transmissions With Hydraulic Control E18/2, Assembling and Disassembling Sequence



Valve body for transmissions with hydraulic control E18/2, assembling and disassembling sequence, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (FWD)

Special tools and equipment

VAG 1306 Drip tray:




VAG 1331 Torque wrench:





Removing
- Observe general repair instructions.
- Replace soiled or defective valve body.





- Remove noise insulation tray -arrows-.
- Place drip tray VAG 1306 underneath.





- Remove drain plug -arrow 1-.
- Drain ATF
- Unscrew bolts on oil pan in diagonal sequence and remove oil pan.





- Remove the two bolts from the ATF screen -arrows-.
- Pull ATF screen off valve body.





- Pry securing clip -arrow- off connector on wiring harness.





- Pull connector -A- off transmission vehicle speed sensor (VSS) -G38-.
- Pull connector -B- off sensor for transmission RPM -G182-.





- Only remove the bolts from the valve body which are marked with an arrow.

Bolt -arrow A- is not fitted and should therefore be ignored.

- Do not remove any other bolts as this could influence the function of the valve body.
- Detach valve body from transmission and guide out connector on wiring harness.

Installing





- So that the wire does not become trapped when installing the valve body, route the wire with connector -C- according to the diagram.
- Lubricate new O-rings for connector on wiring harness with ATF.





- Connect connector in transmission housing with flat part -arrow A- facing toward oil pan.
- Align dowel pin on valve body -arrow B- with hole in transmission housing -arrow C-.





- Place valve body in position so that pin of detent plate -1- engages in slot on selector slide -2-.





- Screw in valve body securing bolts -arrows- hand-tight from the inside outward.

Bolt -arrow A- is not installed and should therefore be ignored.

- Tighten bolts to specified torque setting, working from the inside outward.





- Connect connector -A- to transmission vehicle speed sensor (VSS) -G38-.
- Pull up wire to sensor for transmission RPM between the valve body and wiring harness.
- Connect connector -B- to sensor for transmission RPM -G182-.





- Press in securing clip -arrow- for connector on wiring harness until retaining tab engages.
- Moisten seal on intake neck of ATF screen with ATF.
- Carefully push intake neck of ATF screen in opening of valve body.





- Install ATF screen and tighten bolts -arrows-.
- Install oil pan with new gasket.
- Tighten oil pan bolts in several stages and in diagonal sequence.
- Tighten new drain plug
- Fill with ATF; check ATF level and top off.
